Baby got back, Glee style.
Last weeks episode of Glee was a good one! What is going on with Rachel? She was just going to marry Finn like 4 episodes ago and now she is trying to move in with this new guy! Crazy!
Anyway, when they started singing this song I was sitting there trying to figure out what in the world they were singing. Finally through half of the chorus I was like "OH MY GOSH THAT'S BABY GOT BACK!" Of course Ben was all like "Umm.. Duh!" That song was super popular when I was in middle school, so thank you Glee for making me feel old.
Because it is Monday and because I am sure we will all need a good start to the week I will leave you with the video.
Happy Monday!

Palmolive Fresh Infusions
Have you heard of Influenster?
When I first started blogging I saw the word "Influenster" everywhere! And it was always about cool stuff that people were getting in the mail, for free! So of course I jumped on that band wagon! When I got my first email saying I was selected to receive a Vox Box I was so excited! A few weeks later I was selected to receive another package of new dish soaps to try out. Yay! So now, here I am telling you about some cool new soaps that Palmolive has to offer called "Fresh Infusions."
I'm not the biggest fan of washing dishes by hand, in fact I usually start out letting stuff soak in the water for a bit and then forget about them for a couple of days and I always have to start over like 3 times. But stick some soap in a cute bottle with some awesome scents and I will actually wash dishes.
My favorite scent is the Lime Basil. And it gets the job done! And don't think that because they are a new product they are expensive and probably not worth trying. They are affordable and I highly recommend giving them a shot!
Thank you Influenster for this awesome product!

A little late "Wordless Wednesday"
How is it that I always manage to get my days mixed up? Since I missed "Wordless Wednesday" yesterday I will post it today, because I know you guys are all missing a super cute picture! Also, I think this flu mess has finally made its way out. Thank goodness! I highly recommend if you encounter someone with the flu you stay as far away from them as possible and carry a can of Lysol with you just incase.
I'm VERY glad that I am feeling better so I will be able to get my runs in this weekend and hopefully get caught up in my Google Reader, I'm almost too scared to look at the number of unread items.

Surviving the flu
So this flu mess is some serious business. I literally have not felt like doing anything at all, which is not going to make going back to work tomorrow any easier.
Here are a few tips just incase you get the flu:
During phase 1 of the flu you don't feel like eating anything. The thought of consuming anything makes you want to toss your cookies. Make sure you have some Saltine crackers on hand, they will taste like heaven in cracker form, and make you really thirsty so you will need some Gatorade too. But be careful on Gatorade flavors, some of them taste like a gym bag. And when you do start feeling better? Chick-fil-a!
There will be a point that you feel like you are going to freeze to death even with the mountain of blankets covering you and the 2 hoodies you are wearing. Have no fear, in 20 minutes when the Tylenol starts kicking in you will be sweating like a hooker in church.
I'm not sure if those expensive flu meds are really worth it. For over 10$ per pill you would think I would have seen some rainbows and unicorns or something.
You are in fact, not dying. I know it feels like it, and while Ben was at work on Friday I texted him approximately 13 times telling him "I'm dying... No really I'm 99.7% sure that this is it."
Check instagram every 5 minutes, nothing makes you feel worse than seeing every other person on your IG feed out living their lives and eating really yummy looking stuff. Thanks guys.
Make sure that whoever you contracted this deadly disease sickness from knows just how badly you are feeling. And throw in one of those pitiful cough's while your at it, you know like the scene in Zoolander when he gets the "black lung." Because I got it from my husband I let him know every 26.3 seconds I was feeling like poop on a stick.
Watch Catfish marathons. That show gets me every time. Clearly if someone refuses to talk to you on the phone and meet you in person they are not who they say they are. And then get angry whenever the person says "I've been talking to hundreds of people... I don't see anything wrong with it." Oh ok, you are psychotic, that makes everything ok now.
And finally, get plenty of rest. When I was at the doctor he asked me if I needed a work excuse, to which I replied, "No I don't have to be back at work until Monday." His response? "Good you are going to need that much time to get over it, lots of bed rest." Man oh man he wasn't kidding.
The good thing is, you will have a medical reason not to do laundry and other chores around the house. The bad news? Chores and laundry will still wait for you to get better to take care of things.

An update of sorts
So I mentioned things have been a little crazy this week. Last Sunday Ben started feeling sick so Monday he went to the doctor to find out he had the flu. Yay!
On Wednesday I was off of work because Ben had an appointment with the surgeon and I needed to go with him because we all know how guys are with important information. That morning before the appointment I started feeling a little crummy but thought it was just the weather. But by that night I was feeling crummier and both Brody and I had low grade fevers. Awesome, right?
Thursday morning I take Brody to the doctor to find out that he has a really bad ear infection and his doc gave us a prescription for flu meds incase his fever goes up, since he has been exposed to it. About an hour after getting his meds and getting him home I head to my doctor to find out that it's my turn for the flu. Yay, again.
So now I am recovering and watching reruns of Catfish, which by the way that show blows my mind. And I've been eating Saltine crackers because they taste freaking amazing when you are sick. And maybe a couple of red velvet pop tarts, because Kellogg's emailed me telling me they had a new flavor of pop tarts and I just had to get them whenever we were roaming Publix yesterday waiting for Brody's medicine. They are amazing.
So now I am off to continue laying on the couch and doing absolutely nothing.
But because it is Friday, and because this is funny...

Friday Funnies Honey Boo Boo Style
Incase you didn't get the memo, Honey Boo Boo is back! And in honor of the new season, I decided that today's Friday Funnies should be dedicated to little miss Alana herself.
And if anyone knows what this "marannaise" is and can fill me in, that would be great!
Sorry Alana but mayonaise does NOT taste like vanilla pudding!
My FAVORITE quote ever!
Me too girlfriend, me too!

Homemade Laundry Detergent
You guys.
I just made laundry detergent and it was intense!
Ok maybe not intense but I highly suggest you do it outside because you might start to feel it once you start mixing it together. I used the recipe that is posted over on Diary of a Stay at Home Mom.
For all of the ingredients, including the container it was $28.00! And it made A LOT. You are only supposed to use 1-2 tablespoons per load so it should last a really long time. Oh and you can microwave the soap, I only did one bar in the microwave because I was afraid it might blow up or turn us into those people on The Hills Have Eyes. But microwaving it makes it turn into powder whenever it cools down. Science experiment anyone?
You literally grate the soap and mix everything together and that's it! It took me less than 10 minutes.

I tested it out on my husbands laundry... I was not about to ruin all of my clothes if I somehow screwed up the recipe, sorry Ben.
But it was a success! And all of the ingredients are right next to each other at Walmart, so I didn't have to go searching all over the place for them, score!
