Two truths and a lie--the answer!
Ok, first of all my husband got the lie wrong from yesterday. He actually was at work whenever I posted it and I got a text saying "Your lie is obvious..." When he got home I asked how it was obvious and he said "You haven't played in Carnegie Hall!" Let's just say he's lucky that he surprised me with an appointment for a massage yesterday!
#1 I have played in Carnegie Hall. TRUE! I was in band from 6-12th grade and my freshman year of high school the band went to NYC and we played in Carnegie!
#2 I upgraded my phone to a Blackberry, and went back to the store to exchange it for an iPhone not even 12 hours later. TRUE! I was due for an upgrade and needed a new phone so after spending an hour at the AT&T store debating between the iPhone and Blackberry I went with the Blackberry. The associate that was helping me gave me his business card incase I had a problem. I got the phone home and Ben set it all up for me and I decided I hated it. I texted the AT&T guy and said "Hey this is the iPhone/Blackberry girl, I will def be seeing you tomorrow morning to exchange it for the iPhone."
#3 I was sick every single day of my first trimester with Brody. FALSE. I only got sick once while I was prego, in my third trimester, and that was from a stomach bug that Ben brought home. I was extremely lucky that I didn't have to deal with morning sickness and will be knocking on wood that I don't have it for the next one!

Two truths and a lie
I've seen this on a few other blogs and I thought since I have a bunch of new faces around here, that don't know very much about me, I would do it too!
So basically, I'm going to write three things about me, two of which are true and the other false. And YOU get to guess which one is false!
#1 I have played in Carnegie Hall.
#2 I upgraded my phone to a Blackberry, and went back to the store to exchange it for an iPhone not even 12 hours later.
#3 I was sick every single day of my first trimester with Brody.
Alright folks, leave a comment with your guess!

Co-Hosting the GYB hop!
Good Thursday morning and welcome to the Grow Your Blog (or GYB) blog hop! Paula and I are so happy to have you link up with us this week. And we happily welcome any new bloggers to the party! :) How has your week been? Do you have any plans for the weekend?
What is the Grow Your Blog Hop all about? NETWORKING! Meeting new bloggers, finding new content to follow, building your readership. Why is blog networking great for you? Simply put, it increases readership and traffic to your blog. How do you network? Visit. Comment. Invite. Communicate. These are key to growing your blog.
- Follow your hosts and co-hosts
- Link up the main page of your blog, not an individual post. You may link up your individual posts to Marvelous Mondays.
- Visit and follow other bloggers
- Comment to let them know that you stopped by and how you followed (Email, GFC, Facebook, Bloglovin, etc)
- Invite them to visit your blog (be sure to leave your blog web address - too many times have i seen bloggers comment and request a visit to their blog without leaving their blog web address)
- Communicate with them about what you like on their blog. Let them know you are interested in their blog. USE THEIR NAME! A simple "I'm so and so stopping by. I followed you please follow me." just isn't going to interest someone into visiting your blog. Sure, you can request a visit to your blog or a follow along but engage in some type of conversation first.
- Grab a button and promote the party(you can get the button on This Gal Cooks right here.)
THIS WEEK'S HOSTS & LOVELY CO-HOSTS!
Julie from This Gal Cooks (HOST) Paula from Call Me PMc (HOST) Sparkle from Sparkle Elle Crafts (CO-HOST) Shane from Whispering Sweet Nothings (CO-HOST) Cynthia from Feeding Big (CO-HOST) Jenni from Dash of Sunshine (CO-HOST)

Technology?
Happy Saturday y'all!
I hope everyone has eaten their fill of Hershey kisses and Reese's hearts this week! If not, hurry and go get some clearance-d candy, before it is all gone! Or go ahead and get you some chocolate bunnies 'cause we all know those guys are already out on the shelf!
I'm convinced that the candy company's have huge machines that put stuff into the air that make you crave chocolate on Valentine's day, actually, maybe they do it every day? I think maybe I will blame my daily chocolate cravings on those machines. Yeah that sounds good.
Anyway, if you have been around for a while you know how awesome my husband is from his intro post.
True story.
Let's be honest, I suck with computers and phones. Backing up a computer on a hard drive? Backing up my iPhone and updating it? Yeah not happening. There for a while I couldn't even update my apps on my phone because there wasn't enough room due to the thousands of pictures I had on there. So guess who updated everything and helped me make room on my phone? Mr. Thebomb.com, that's who!
Thank you to my wonderful husband for always taking care of my technology issues.
It is actually kind of entertaining whenever I have a technical issue and I try to ask questions about it. He explains it in his terms then I have the whole deer in headlights look and he has to re-explain everything he just said in words that I can understand.
Gigabytes? Hard drive? USB cables and ports?

Friday Funnies
Brody keeps asking for a dog, so I'm hoping Ben will watch this and see how funny they can be and will change his mind...

A little update
I'm so excited that I got to co host the "I love my online friends GFC hop" this week! To all of my new followers...
HEY GIRL HEYY!
I'm in the process of visiting all of you guys' blogs! There are quite a few so bear with me folks!
In the mean time... This weekend was like not a weekend I feel like. Those are always the worst weekends, i.e. not enough relaxation time. Although I did have my testing certification for my job, and I passed! Certified ortho assistant, HOLLA!
And can we all make a universal rule that for the whole week of Valentine's Day, any calorie you consume doesn't count? Especially chocolate and candy, those should be negative calories, like celery! Yes?
Also I learned an important lesson this weekend, that I seem to "learn" almost every other week, that maybe one of these days I will catch onto. Going grocery shopping at Walmart on a late Sunday morning is a bad idea. From now on I will go on my days off on Friday early in the morning, all by myself. That way I don't have to carry a 2 1/2 year old around the entire store.
You know what else I have learned? There is, in fact, life outside of Target. I haven't been to the good old Tar-jay since right after Christmas, which is good considering I used to go just about every week. The best way to get rid of a Tar-jay addiction is to just stop going. Cold turkey. It can be done and I promise your bank account will thank you.

Our weather on the Emerald Coast
The weather here in Florida is kind of ridiculous. I've never lived anywhere else so I don't have anything to compare it to, but seriously it is crazy.
One day it is 40 degrees, the next it is 75.
One minute it is pouring rain and looks like it will be yucky all day, then, not even 5 minutes later it is sunny and not a cloud in the sky.
I could have easily spent my days off at the beach in JANUARY. January people, when it should have been at least a little chilly outside it was perfect beach weather.
That is cray cray.
A beautiful view of the Destin Harbor and Crab Island.
Even though the weather is a big fat lame-o sometimes, I'm happy to call this place home. I'm also happy that I don't have to pay thousands of dollars for a vacation to enjoy these beaches because it is just a short drive from our house.

It's game day!
Happy Super Bowl Sunday!
I have a confession... I don't even know who is playing tonight. When it comes to football, unless it is Alabama playing, I don't watch. Sorry to all you big pigskin fans but to me, this Super Bowl thing just means food, commercials, and some kind of wardrobe malfunction or inappropriate gesture during halftime.
Yes, I am a typical girl sometimes.
I would totally pick Guy Fieri to create our menu. His food always looks amazing!
My only goal for today is not to burn the Velveeta dip. Wish me luck!

Diaper free is the way to be!
Yesterday Brody and I celebrated a month of no diapers! Actually a month and four days, but who's counting? After I picked him up from daycare we went to Tropical Smoothie. I had told Ben I was thinking about taking him to Walmart to pick out a new toy but Ben was like "Why don't you take him to get ice cream?" But Brody LOVES "moovies" (smoothies) so I thought that might be a better idea.
Let me start off by saying I am not an expert. I did some research online and talked to people that have been through potty training before and just jumped into it. This is what worked for us.
Plus while I was grocery shopping yesterday I may have picked him up a new hat, airplane, and new "monster jam" but shh, don't tell dad.
I thought that since we have been successful with potty training I would share the info that I found to be helpful.
First of all, make sure your kid is ready. If they don't show any signs of being ready (for example, telling you when they need to go, telling you when they need to be changed etc.) don't even attempt to try potty training. That will only lead to frustration and making your kid not want to use the "big boy/girl" potty. Brody started telling us whenever he needed his diaper changed, that's when I knew it was time. I was off of work for a couple of weeks for Christmas and I didn't want to take him to daycare so I decided it was the perfect time to lock ourselves in the house and get rid of diapers.
We went and got "big boy underwear," some m&m's for rewards, and one of those cool kid potty's that play music whenever it gets wet and the night before I told him "Ok tomorrow we aren't going to wear any diapers! You are going to start using the big boy potty like mommy and daddy!" So whenever he woke up the next morning he put on his big boy underwear and I told him that if he needs to go potty to use his big boy potty, and whenever he does he will get some m&m's. I recommend getting a few packs of underwear and whichever character they are into, that way it is kind of fun that they get to wear big boy underwear with Buzz Lightyear, Thomas, or Nemo etc.
All of the websites I had read said to let the kid go naked and I even had a friend tell me that's what she did and it was successful but my kid wouldn't even wear pajamas to school for pajama day so I knew that running around without anything on wasn't going to be an option for him.
Of course there were accidents. And for that I recommend also getting carpet cleaner. By that afternoon he was sort of getting the hang of things and the number of accidents were decreasing. When he is at home with us he doesn't take naps so I didn't have to worry about nap time, but at night he did wear a pull-up (and actually he still does just incase).
On the second day, he still had a couple of accidents but nothing major. By the third day, he wasn't having any accidents aside from going #2. Up until about a couple of weeks ago he refused to go #2 in the potty. Finally, when he had his last accident he wanted to look at his underwear (it was Thomas the train) while I was cleaning it up and I told him that he couldn't see Thomas because Thomas was sad and Thomas was crying because he was dirty. He repeated "I make Thomas cry? Thomas is sad." And ever since has gone #2 in the potty. Well except for a few weeks ago when daddy took a little too long to get him to the potty, which in his defense, I was taking a shower and had the bathroom door locked.
So that was our potty training experience. Again, I am no expert but this is what worked for us and maybe will help someone else that is about to go through it. And hopefully he won't kill me in 13 years whenever he reads this.
