Every year where we live there is a "Mullet Festival." And for those of you not familiar with seafood, it is a fish. We don't devote a whole festival for the hairstyle, people.
During the day there are rides and the yummy greasy fair food such as fried oreos, fried candy bars, funnel cakes, fried gator on a stick, and corn dogs as long as my arm. There are also local businesses selling shirts and crafts etc, then there are local food stands selling mullet and other goodies. And at night there are concerts. This year Colt Ford played Friday night, Jake Owen on Saturday and Sunday was Kellie Pickler. I've never been at night but from what I have heard it can get pretty crazy.
Last year we took Brody and he was still too young for any of the rides, so we ate a ton of food. This year he was only big enough to go on a few of the rides and then we had a fried PB&J and some french fries.
It might not look like much but you know how good a PB&J is? Well this is about 500 times better than that!
We also caught up with my niece and nephew and rode the spinning aliens with them.
Brody was looking up saying "Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!"
This horse riding was a bad idea.. The whole time he was trying to jump off of the poor thing.
His fav, this kid rode the helicopters like 3 times.
We watched some clowns make political jokes with a bunch of kids. And drank some lemonade.
Then we met up with Brody's girlfriend, LaRae and we walked around with them for 2.5 seconds until Brody said "wanna go home!"
So we said our goodbye's and Brody was passed out in the car before we even got a mile away from the festival. We didn't eat as much as I wanted to and I am sure that my body is grateful I didn't stuff it with the fried oreos, corn dogs, fried snickers, and fried PB&J like I did last year. Although I am thinking of frying up some Oreos here at home to make up for not eating any. So I would like to apologize to my heart in advance for the arteries that I'm sure will probably be clogged after that.
Thanks for the memories Mullet! See you next year!
